Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence is the philosophy and development of computer systems that are capable of performing activities that typically involve human intelligence, such as visual awareness, comprehension of voice, decision-making, and language translation. This is reflection post on the article by Toby Ord on whether AL should replace humans. No system have the talent of humans. Humans have talent that can be created in a system but these systems do not have feelings. They just do what the system is asking them to do. If they replace humans then the world will never get developed and we will face more problems such as unemployment, laziness, obesity and non educational people in the future. Nothing should totally replace humans because we are the main creatures of the world.
Discussion post reflection on Al and Humans
In the article by Toby Ord, it discusses how AI will take the future and it will have control over everything. It shows how a machine that humans created with their brains will be stronger and will lead the world and the humans with them. How come something that we create to help us and to make our life easier replaces us? It is the consequences of misuse made by humans. When something is created, it is meant to help us humans and to create a developed world full of technologies. We humans should never be replaced because we have power that not any other creature has in this world. We should never create a machine that replaces humans because then we will be the one disliking it and instead of developing the world we are creating problems such as unemployment mentioned by Toby Ord. A machine that can translate between languages, produce photorealistic images of humans and animals, speak with the same tone and voices of people whom it heard before, can learn easily and have a continuous control which means the machine can literally do all the work that a human being is doing. A machine like this will create problems such as unemployment, laziness, obesity and non educational people. If people can find that there is no work for them to do therefore, they do not have to get a diploma or a college degree because they will not get employed anyways. Here falls the point where instead of creating a more developed world we are just making it worse.
In the video, it shows us how the future will be if it gets controlled by machines. How strong the machine will be and how they will destroy the world instead of developing it. The video also shows how the robots will start killing the humans and standing against them because they were made to do what is logic and what they feel is right. They have no feelings or emotions to think in a way that might be against the law or not right to do. Therefore, we humans have more power than any other creature.
The audience of the article and the video is the same. I feel like both are targeting the same issue and talking about the same topic. The data and statistics used by Toby Ord was interesting to catch people’s attention and to convince them of what he is trying to show or say.
