Abstract

Bicycles is a mechanism made to help poor people get to their desired destination. Bicycles are a mechanism that was made a long time ago in 1817 but it was developed over time. Bicycles are not hard to use but the way it works is interesting and knowledgeable. The bicycle turns the energy in our body to kinetic energy. A bicycle transforms approximately 90% of the energy you supply to the pedals from the body into kinetic energy. To drive the bike, the energy that is produced by your body is used. A standard bicycle should have gear equipment because it makes it easy to ride and makes the bicycle travel quicker. The power used when pedaling causes a bike’s gears to turn the back wheel and then it generates friction and goes to the destination you like as the back wheel rotates. Bicycles are affordable, healthier, and better for the environment. Those who ride their bikes regularly increase their strength and build muscles to keep them fit. Also, using a bicycle a few times per week helps the environment. Bicycle does not require any gasoline therefore, no smog or emission is released in the air when a person is cycling. Bicycles reduce pollution and keep clean air for the environment. Bicycles are a mechanism that keeps on developing over time. Now, we have the electric bicycle that works exactly like the regular one with electric components. Bicycles have many parts connected together and Every part in the bicycle has a function therefore, the bicycle will never work or move correctly if any part of it is not working.

   Bicycle

Albert  Einstein once said “life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” (Einstein,1930)  (This is in text citation for the quote I got from a picture) If we are going to talk about one of the greatest inventions of science we will talk about bicycles. Bicycles were made to help poor people get to their desired destination. Bicycles are a mechanism that was made a long time ago in 1817 but it was developed over time. Bicycles were made to help people move from one place to another but because of how creative it is and how awesome it looks. (There were some spelling and grammar mistakes, I changed it). People started riding bicycles for fun or hobby. Bicycles are good for health, environment, and economy. Bicycling was always my favorite mechanism since I was six years old. I started bicycling with the tricycle ( used a more professional word) but by time I started improving and getting harder and harder. The reason that I drove the tricycle is because the two wheel bicycle was hard for me to balance. Now I use the racing bicycle as my favorite one. Bicycles have many benefits for us human beings and for the environment. How does bicycle work show how simple it is for people to use to help our environment.

We are in 2020 where most people use cars but if we really think about it more deeply bicycles are always better than cars. Bicycles are affordable, healthier, and better for the environment. If we used bicycles everyday in our daily activities such as going to work. Then, you are automatically doing cardio, helping the environment and saving money. (It was a  fragment sentence so fixed the grammar mistakes) Even if just riding a bicycle for fun or to get fresh air you are helping your body to be healthier and changing your mood to happy.

How are you doing cardio exercises by bicycling? (this paragraph was connected to the paragraph before. Therefore, I separated paragraphs in order to help the reader understand the writing clearly.)Those who ride their bikes regularly increase their strength and build muscles to keep them fit. In order to ride a bicycle you need to move your leg and that causes your hamstring muscles and the calf muscles to move. You start the first 10 minutes by moving your legs slowly until your biceps fumoirs, semitendinosus, semimembranosus, gastrocnemius and soleus muscles are warmed up. Then your muscles start working faster and you start speeding up, which raises your heart rate and burns calories from your whole body. Bicycles not only move your leg muscles but also it moves your whole body muscles in order to have athletic movement. Therefore, you do not need a gym membership anymore if you cycle a few days per week.

How is bicycle helping the environment? (tried to make the paragraph shorter because it is a new idea). Bicycle does not require any gasoline therefore, no smog or emission is released in the air when a person is cycling. Bicycles reduce pollution and keep clean air for the environment. Using your bicycle a few times per week is a simple way to help the environment. The less cars we use the better it will be for the environment. Cars require gasoline which pollutes the air of the environment and that will affect the animals, trees and the human being. How does a bicycle have economic benefits? It is cheaper to own a bicycle than owning a car. For the bicycle you do not need to pay monthly payment like the car. Owning a car is more expensive and it requires you to pay for monthly car payments, insurance, expensive routine maintenance or fuel. Moreover, you do not need a parking spot or garage when you have a bicycle. In some cases like mine, I live in Brooklyn and to find a parking spot for your car you need to search for about 2 hours minimum therefore, I always prefer bicycles for my health and environmental benefits. Bicycle is a simple machine that is easy to use. It is used by millions of people around the world because it gets you from one destination to another. The process depends on both the rider and the bike. Therefore, riding a bicycle can not be done without the rider and the driver. That is why there is some science study in the process more than just a machine created. (This was a new paragraph but same idea as the paragraph before so I connected both paragraphs)

How does the bicycle work? (Also I separated this paragraph because it has a different topic). The bicycle turns the energy in our body to kinetic energy. Kinetic energy is the energy by movements. A bicycle converts almost 90 percent of the body energy that you supply to the pedals into kinetic energy. The energy that is created by your body is used to move the bike. The rider just needs to create balance in order to keep the bike stable to get to the destination safely. Cycling sometimes seems hard to many many people if you are going uphill or speeding up. When you are cycling uphill, you need to work against the force of gravity and that causes an increase in your heart rates. If you are speeding up then you are cycling against the force of air resistance. That is why cycling always seems hard when you are going against gravity or the force of air.

How does the bicycle wheel work? (separated this topic from the paragraph before to make it look more organized). If you realize that the bicycle’s wheel is taller and thinner than the car wheel. Bicycles have spoked wheels to make them both strong and lightweight which make it easier for the rider to cycle. A bicycle wheel and the axle is a simple machine that will speed depending on how you turn or which direction you are taking. The wheels also support your weight while cycling but if it is solid on a place and you sit on it then you will notice that it is compressed down because it is not moving. What moves the wheels of the bicycle? The gears are also examples of a simple machine.

How does the gears work and move the wheels? (this paragraph was connected to the paragraph before so I separated it from the one before because it is a different idea). A typical bicycle should have gear that is linked by chain because it makes the bicycle go faster and it makes it easier to pedal. The gears are the machine that makes great differences in your speed. The force used by pedaling enables the gears of a bike to spin the back wheel and then when then the back wheel rotates it creates friction and moves to the destination you want. To pedal you use your leg strong muscles that create power to cycle faster.  Does the bicycle have brakes? Yes, every bicycle should have brakes just like a car. How does the brakes of the bicycle work? The brakes of the bicycle work by friction, when you press on the brake a pair of rubber clamps onto the metal inner rim of the front and back wheel. That forces the wheel to stop even when you are speeding up. Some people ride bicycles without brakes but it is just as dangerous as driving a car with no brakes. Brakes should be an important part of your bicycle. Every typical bicycle has handlebars. Why should there be handlebars in a bicycle? Handlebars are designed in bicycles in order for the rider to control and handle the front wheel. The longer the handlebars of the bicycle the easier you can control the front wheel. Without handlebars in the bicycle it is gonna be hard for you to have control of the front wheel. Therefore, everything created in the bicycle has a job to do and the bicycle will not work if one any part of it is not working.

Bicycles keep developing from time to time and now we are in 2020 where electric bicycles exist. When people hear the word electric bicycle they think they will get a bicycle that looks fancy and that they will get to places without doing any work. No, electric bicycles and the regular bicycle look like each other but just electric components like battery, motor and a controller are added to the electric bicycle.. Electric components are made in the electric bicycle to help people from getting tired not to replace it. First, you need to charge the battery of the bicycle. The battery moves the pedals just like how your legs pedals. Then comes the drivetrain that is responsible to provide the power necessary to manually turn the wheels of the bicycle. The mid drive motor sends power to the drivetrains to make it easier for the rider to cycle. The drivetrains allow the rider to shift gears if she or he wants to make their trip to the destination easier. Electric bicycles are more about motors working by battery than you moving your body  muscles to pedal. You Still need to put some power from your body muscles in the electric bicycle.

Bicycle is an example of a simple machine but it consists of many things connected together in order for it to work. Bicycling is counted as a sport to many people. Every part in the bicycle has a function and the bicycle will not work or move correctly if any part of it is not working. Bicycles have many benefits to use and the way it works is fun and interesting to people. Now you know the science process made behind a simple machine you drive or you think in driving.
